Project Charlotte

A project completed for Foxtel’s TV show Love It or List It, Project Charlotte is a 1930’s brick, Art Deco style home in Melbourne with stunning ceiling roses and cornices throughout. This was a large scale renovation working within the homes existing footprint. To allow the clients to work from home almost full-time and host overseas guests for extended periods, the wish list included relocating and increasing the size of the home office, increasing the size of the guest bedroom, new open plan kitchen, living and dining spaces along with a combined bathroom / laundry.

To make all this work without increasing the size of the home took some spatial planning genius to maximise every millimetre and eliminate dead space. The result was a newly renovated and decorated home that retained the character but with a new injection of practicality for modern living.

From the moment my husband I first met with Broadfeather Design, we could just tell that we were in fantastic hands. Alleviating all of our pre-conceived concerns around the stresses of having to make decisions, the Broadfeather team were such a pleasure to work with.

We couldn’t visualise what exactly it was that we wanted (or even needed) to achieve, but the team at Broadfeather Design were quick assess what it was that we were looking for. Providing us with exceptional ongoing suggestions, whilst continuing to honour our ideas throughout the whole process.

Seamlessly working alongside our fabulous builder, with her expertise and guidance, Broadfeather Design respected our homes’ beautiful Art Deco features to transform our drab 1930’s clinker, into a modern-day stunning entertainer that we are now truly proud to show off. Our open floor-plan now flows for easy everyday living and entertaining is now such a breeze.
